The MDV 3000-class Tera Jet was built in 1999 by Fincantieri, Genoa, Italy and offers tremendous lift capacity for about 1800 passengers (can be increased if needed up to 2000) and up to 500 cars (or it can carry 30 large articulated trucks + 100 cars, or a mixture of both).

The vessel features a combined diesel and gas turbine configuration with two 22-megawatt LM2500 gas turbines and four 6.7-megawatt MTU diesel engines. Total power output is more than 70 megawatts per vessel. She is capable of reaching speeds in excess of 40 knots.
